In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation Stages?

We used blogger as a planner/diary for each step we have made to make sure we were on track. We also used blogger to; post audience questionnaires, help us plan and decide what we were going to place in the video, we recorded our findings and used some of the feedback from the questionnaire, to improve part of the video.
We used YouTube to look at different clips for inspiration, YouTube has a good system as the amount of views tells us video popularity and there are areas to comment and leave feedback.
We surfed the internet to find band information, we looked for feedback on; Myspace and twitter when we were looking for a band to use for our video performance, we used Myspace to look into contacting the band to ask for permission to use there song, and we used Facebook to gain feedback on rough cuts of the video t enable us to improve the quality of our piece.

We used a Sony Handy Cam to take footage of our performance and used the college Apple Macintosh computers to edit we used the program 'final cut express' this program was a very good tool for piecing our performance together, through this program we could use skills to change setting colours and to use fade ins and out, we could also add different speeds to the shots for different parts so we could slow the footage down and adjust the speed.

For our Digipack we thought up out ideas, then took pictures with a digital camera and finally enhanced them using a program called photo shop. It was a handy tool to make the pictures more exciting and to give them a better colour clarity.

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

We found the audience feedback to be very useful. The first piece of audience feedback that we gained was from a questionnaire, this asked people what they would expect to see in a music video from the same genre as our video. We used the data gained from this questionnaire when we were deciding what we could involve in our video. Audience feedback also helped us to open our eyes to the flaws in our video that we may not have seen ourselves. In order to gain some feedback we handed out questionnaires to people who had seen our video, the feedback we got from our questionnaire was positive, everybody who watched rated the video between 8 and 10 out of 10, this pleased is greatly. The questionnaires also featured a question about how we could improve our video, this was also very helpful because it meant that the people answering the questions could suggest ways in which we could improve our video that we may not have thought of ourselves.

We then posted our video on to Facebook so that we could gain some feedback from people who weren't on the same course as us. The feedback given was mostly helpful, on one hand it was useful because most of the people who commented are in our target age range, this meant that if they did have any suggestions we could tailor our video to their suggestions.

We have been able to gain feedback from our teacher throughout our project, which has enabled us to make any necessary changes immediately. Another advantage of having constant advice is that we can make sure that we are on target with all of our tasks.

As well as this we also created a poll, in which people could vote for their favourite answer. Their answers helped us to decide what we should include in our video for example.

So overall audience feedback was more helpful than we originally thought, mainly because it helped us to ensure that our video and digi-pack were at the highest standard they could be and that they were good for the audience to view.

This is the spine of our cd cover.
This is the inside of our cd case.
This is the final design for the back of our cd case.

Final Designs!

We have chosen these as our final designs for the front of our digi-pack and tour poster, we chose these due to the colours and style of writing.

Cover for Digi-Pack

These are our four favourite designs for our front cover of the Digi-pack. We have played around with the font to find one that suits best. The Futuristic writing below creates a modern feel to the band, which contrasts with the picture. This may intrigue the buyer and catch their eye.

We also used a affect on photoshop to change the picture.

Our Favourite is one is the orginal picture and the old fashioned kind of writing. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

This is our second idea for our advertisement poster.

Ideas for our CD launch poster.

This is our initial idea for a poster advertising the release of the bands latest album.

EDITING OF OUR PICTURES IN PHOTOSHOP.

We used photoshop to edit our photo's. By using filters and different fonts of text we finally put together a couple of front covers that we liked.
